Paper Clips
Paper Clips
Paper Clips is a feature length documentary about rural Tennessee students who decided to honor Holocaust victims by collecting one paper clip for each life lost. Paper Clips won 14 major awards including National Board of Review selection as one of the five best documentaries in 2004. Paper Clips will soon be available on DVD for schools to include in curricula. Read more about Paper Clips (PDF file).

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences notified HBO that its broadcast of Paper Clips is nominated to receive an EMMY at the 2006 awards ceremony. Paper Clips, a documentary produced by The Johnson Group (along with One Clip At A Time, HMA and Ergo Entertainment), is nominated under News and Documentary Awards, and is in the category Outstanding Historical Program -- Long Form. Awards will be presented in New York, September 25.

Crossover is a documentary produced for Showtime Network and chronicles life in the NBA and its impact on society. The Johnson Group executive produced Crossover with Penny Marshall and Magic Johnson. The film is now being marketed internationally.

Living With Hope was produced for the National Institutes of Health and is a documentary about the struggle experienced by teens living with HIV/AIDS. Living With Hope won a CINE Golden Eagle Award for Excellence and was honored by the US International Film and Video Festival.

HALO
HALO
HALO, a documentary produced for the Discovery Channel, takes an in-depth look at an elite unit of soldiers training to become “High Altitude, Low Opening” jumpers. As part of the nation’s effort to combat terrorism, HALO soldiers train to jump at altitudes as high as 35,000 feet, freefalling to about 2,000 feet before opening their chutes. HALO also explores the impact of such rigorous training on the families that support these unusual soldiers.

A Cry in the Woods
A Cry in the Woods
A Cry in the Woods is the story of the spotted owl and restrictions imposed on the logging industry as a result of the perceived threat to the owl's habitat. The story is told forcefully and convincingly through the words of people of the Northwest who were directly impacted by government decisions to preserve the owl's habitat. A Cry in the Woods was also featured on the PBS Network.

Pageant of Peace
Christmas Pageant of Peace
For nearly 20 years, The Johnson Group has produced the annual lighting of the National Christmas Tree. For one special night of the year, The Ellipse near the White House becomes America’s town square. More than 7,000 visitors and neighbors in the Capital area gather to hear the President’s Christmas message and to watch as he lights the National Christmas Tree. Each year, The Johnson Group invites some of America’s favorite entertainers to participate in the lighting ceremony.
